內容簡介: Hong Kong Internment, 1942–1945: Life in the Japanese Civilian Camp at Stanley tells the story of the more than three thousand non-Chinese civilians: British, American, Dutch and others, who were trapped in the British colony and interned behind barbed wire in Stanley Internment Camp from 1942 to 1945.
博客來書店From 1970 to 1972, while researching for his MA thesis, the author interviewed twenty-three former Stanley internees. During these meetings, the internees talked about their lives in the Stanley Camp during the Japanese occupation. 博客來Long regarded as an invaluable reference and frequently consulted as a primary source on Stanley since its completion in 1973, the study is now republished with a new introduction and fresh discussions that recognize later work and information released since the original thesis was written. 誇張拾荒翁 馬路當垃圾倉庫

道路成自家囤積場！8旬詹姓老翁，長年收集基隆大武崙工業區的資源回收為嗜好，並將其囤積至七安產業道路旁，造成環境極度髒亂。儘管基隆市環保局多次開罰，但這名老翁卻遇挫愈勇，甚至還睡在資源回收車上，成為當地頭痛人物。
「根本是垃圾山！」基隆七堵區的瑪東里長李文良在路過大武崙工業區旁的七安產業道路時，赫然發現垃圾堆滿在路旁，並立刻拍照片上傳臉書，引起民眾討論，有網友認為是垃圾清運車夜間，非法傾倒垃圾。
基隆安樂區武崙里長李源林則說，該路段所囤積垃圾由8旬的詹男所為，長年將大武崙工業區內的資源分類後，堆積路旁。
儘管基隆市環保局多次出動開罰，仍未見改善，逼得環保局人員只好擺出強硬姿態，警告若勸說再無效，將強制清除。
面對老翁把馬路當垃圾倉庫，讓附近居民苦不堪言。但據了解，這名詹姓老翁並非來自清貧家庭，育有1兒1女的他，因生性節儉平時喜好撿拾資源回收，甚至睡在資源回收車上，兒女及環保局曾多次勸說，仍依然故我。
基隆環保局長賴東鴻表示，先前曾進行勸說及開罰，但只要無稽查人員進行監督，又故態復萌，如開罰無效，將會同警察、里長及產發處強制清除回收物。
